It's Victory! I wanted to share this song with you.

I wrote it in 2021 after having a special moment at my piano in The Secret Place.

I remember singing to God "i need you, i need you, i need you"... i felt a kind of desperation.

A bit of sadness came over me because the thought came to mind "You only want Him because you need Him"....... I felt like a failiure in a way because the truth is that perhaps if I didn't "feel" like i needed Him then maybe i wouldn't be here seeking Him. I wanted to love Him just because... and not for what He could give me.

Suddenly I shifted from singing "i need you, i need you, i need you" to "i want you, i want you, i want you".... my whole heart lifted .. it felt like i was no longer singing to God but rather that God was singing through me... to me.

He was singing "I want you, I want you, I want you" I started weeping... the stream of conciousness continued "I want you, and not because I need you, I want you because I love you...oh I love you, I love you, I love you, I want you because I love you"

I was shook... convinced of God's love unlike ever before. God sang a whole love song to me and I knew it was Him. This experience came on the heels of a lot disappointments in relationships and writing a whole album on love and the lack thereof.

Everyone knows the feeling of wanting to be wanted. Especially women.

This song is a picture of a passionate lover going to pursue a bride that never even agreed to be His... all for the chance that she MIGHT say yes and knowing that if she says no, there's nothing He can do to take back the ultimate sacrifice that He already paid. He spilled His very blood just for the chance to have us, and not because He needs us... He wants us... because He loves us.
