Hey Friends,
This is a pretty special moment in time that was captured on "tape".
It was the year 2020 when I felt the courage to live and to live big. My Dad almost died of Covid and when he came home from the hosplital my whole family got the virus too. We prayed like never before and God helped us make it through that very scary time.
By the time everything stabilezed I had a new found conviction to live and live well. I decided that I was going to organize a weekly Christmas production starting Thanksgiving Day and finishing on Christmas Eve and stream it every week to inspire hope all over the world.
I soon found out that I didn't have have even an ounce of what it would take to pull off something like this. So I took all my plans to Jesus. I put them in His hands.
To make a long story short, every single need was provided for in less than 3 days time including an $100k budget to fund the whole project. It was a miracle.
This particular recording was from our 2nd show. I never produced shows or productions before and certainly not at this scale. We had strings, and piano, a real Organ, drums, bass, cameras, lighting, guitar of course and 4 different musical acts.. Oh and a 12ft Christmas tree.
That night as the show was airing LIVE, I felt like a loser. I was probably running on 2 hrs of sleep and the show felt like it was not good.. at least to me it wasn't. We were having technical difficulties through the roof! And even though the audience could only only see what was happening on camera, I could see everything on and off camera and it was clear that our production was hanging by a thread.
It was my sister Momo's turn to step up to the mic and sing a few songs.. if anyone could turn around the program, it would be Momo. She did exactly that.
Once Momo finished singing, I figured, let's keep this momentum going. I surprised the room by picking up my guitar, stepping into the camera frame, and singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow which was nowhere on the agenda.
Momo stayed by my side and watched me until I cued her to jump in and sing with me. All of the musicians felt the shift in the room and jumped in even though we never rehearsed this song before and we were streaming LIVE on air. Even the string quartet could feel what to play.
We found Christmas at The Secret Place. It was in the air and everybody got to taste it. Suddenly the fears and stresses of Covid didn't matter, we were free. Christmas became real, not just a tradition and a holiday... but a joy in our hearts.
At the end of the show, we realized that our camera guys didn't record the video :/ they only streamed it which means that the only proof we have from that special moment is this recording! lol
Enjoy!
